la Biennale di Venezia
55th International Art Exhibition
June 1 – November 24, 2013

Press conference – Berlin, March 14, 2013

Massimiliano Gioni, curator of the 55th International Art Exhibition Il Palazzo Enciclopedico - The Encyclopedic Palace and Paolo Baratta, President of la Biennale di Venezia, present the exhibition which focuses on the dream of many "artists, writers, scientists and self-proclaimed prophets who have tried - often in vain - to fashion an image of the world that will capture its infinite variety and richness" (M. Gioni).

Asked about the significance of the Leningrad Album for the exhibition, Massimiliano Gioni says "The Leningrad Album is a book of erotic phantasies by Evgenij Kozlov, and I think it is a marvelous inspiration of the power of desire and imagination to invent our bodies and our desires". (25m:21s)
