Application (Заявление) by "a group of artists” to the Main Department of Culture (Главное управление культуры, Г.У.К., Glavnoe upravlenie kul‘tury, G.U.K.) for a group exhibition in 1987, dated 5. 8. 1986. The letter, signed (in typescript) by sixteen artists, has Timur Novikov's address as sender. The signatories ask to include a group exhibition of their works in the G.U. K.‘s programme for 1987. It is possible that the original letter, sent to the G.U.K., also bears the signatories’ handwritten signatures. The names of the signatories (see transcript of names below) correspond to the members of the New Artists.
